Click to expand.Maybe not. In many printers, using draft mode means built in ROM fonts rather than downloaded soft ones. In which case, perhaps he wants matching screen fonts. Usually just using Courier or another monospaced font in the appropriate size works for that. For proportionally spaced fonts you need a font from the manufacturer.

If you have a dot matrix and want to use ROM fonts, it can be a pain. Drivers for DOS apps generally allow you to select correct fonts, but Windows, though it appears to list these fonts, always sends Truetype. When my laser was out of action a while ago I dusted off a dot matrix to print out a 200 page file. It was extremely slow from Windows, printing text as graphics no matter if I selected a 'printer font'.

I converted the file and loaded it in Word 6 (DOS), selected an appropriate font, and it was 4 times faster. (I've crossposted this to some groups that may have more answers.).
