So I got these cheap cameras off eBay and they’re pretty good, for what they are. Hey Eneko, Bit tricky to say – did you get any error messages? Make sure you check which firmware version is installed on your cams already. Often you can’t do a big jump in versions, so may need to install an earlier version first. For example, on the Foscam download page under the MPEG series there are 2 sets of firmware downloads, one for 11.37.2.XX and one for 11.22.2.XX. If you’re on 11.22.2.XX try installing 11.22.2.51 first then see if you can install 11.37.2.59.
Not sure if that will work, but it’s the best I can advise. If you still have trouble, maybe try the Foscam Live Chat.
Hope that helps. I have exactly same problem as Floris. I’m having JW0008 with 67.2.2.172 firmware and 9.0.8.48 WebUI versions.
If I try to install Foscam firmware it only reboots the camera and keeps old firmware. After Wanscam updated their webpages I haven’t found any firmwares.

I had link to their latest files which I got from some IPCAM Forum but it’s not working anymore. Site looked a bit unofficial but It was posted by Wanscam’s “techincal person”. My JW0008 is crashing and rebooting daily so I’m willing to try Foscams FW. Hey Steve, I can appreciate how frustrating that must be.
Let me go over a few things – I imagine you have done all the logical things already, but I can’t hurt to have a fresh take on things. I’ll start with the email side of things: NOTE: This is based from what I know from the Foscam firmware – it may be different for the Wanscam firmware. Confirm that the email settings on camera X are the same as on cameras A,B & C – exactly the same. Check your DNS settings are all the same as the other cameras. Have a look at and check that all the ‘var mailX’ variables have been saved correctly. If not, try using &receiver4=&mailinetip= to set the email details. For more details on the the other functions available have a look at, page 27 for setemail.cgi.
Are there any firewalls etc that might be blocking traffic from that camera?. Is camera X on a separate subnet, wifi adapter etc? Is it in any way different to the network that the other cameras are on?. Can you swap cameras? Does one of the working ones send successfully from the same location as the ‘faulty’ one?.
Try connecting it directly to your router, maybe set a static IP address. Can you confirm that motion detection settings are working and triggering an event by setting an FTP upload?. I assume you can view video from the camera, so can you maybe use something like Wireshark to see if there is traffic coming from the camera’s IP address on the appropriate port for whichever email protocol you are using (eg 110/25 for POP)? AS for the change from Wanscam firmware to Foscam firmware (and I thing this will apply to some of the previous commenters as well), try starting at the earliest Foscam version you can download and upgrade them incrementally. It’s been too long since I updated mine to remember where I started to successfully switch from Wanscam to Foscam firmware, so that’s the best advice I can give. Good luck, I hope that’s of some help and let us know how it works out for you.
Hello I installed the 11.37.2.65 version on my Wanscam AJ-C2WA-C118 but I can not find the way to connect to the setup page and the search softwares I downloaded from Foscam are not working neather, they allow me to enter a first screen with a new camera IP, after this ask me for pass, I put admin without pass, ask me to change pass, I do it and after I get into I just see a Foscam control panel but nothing on the right, but after a few minutes the system trow me away and I can not enter any more, is there a way I can restore to factory firmware? I try pushing the reset button but is not working, any help please?
